Oral history, 1991.

Constantine recalls her early days with the College Art Association (CAA) and the New York art world during the 1930s. She describes her familiarity with Mexican and Latin American art, her association during World War II with Nelson A. Rockefeller, then Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs (1940-44), and her friendships with Rene d'Harnoncourt and Porter A. McCray. She discusses the organization of the Museum's Department of Architecture and Design, the exhibitions she organized, and the formation of the department's poster collection in which she was instrumental. Other topics include: Museum politics in the late 1960s and early 1970s and the formation of the Museum's professional staff union (PASTA/MoMA).
